Privacy Policy
Last updated: September 25, 2026
Energy Clock is made by R5IOT LLC. This policy explains what the app and this website do with your information. The short version: what you log in the app stays on your phone.
The short version
- No account. There's no sign-up, sign-in or email address.
- No server. Energy Clock has no server for your data and doesn't send what you log to us or anyone else.
- No ads, analytics or trackers inside the app.
- You're in control: export your history, or erase it, whenever you like.
What the app stores on your phone
Everything below is kept in the app's own storage on your phone, and only there:
- Your profile and schedule: your age, what sets your wake-up time, your usual sleep and wake times, and your answers to the setup questions.
- What you log: nights of sleep (including times you confirmed or corrected), how you felt, naps, energy check-ins, and, if you use them, drinks and caffeine, meals, exercise and — for adults who turn it on — intimacy.
- Sleep estimates the app worked out automatically, kept beside the times you confirmed so the estimates can improve.
- Your settings, such as your sleep target, reminders and appearance.
Phone features the app can use
Each of these is optional, asks your permission first through your phone, and can be turned off in the app or in your phone's settings.
- Motion (iPhone: Motion & Fitness; Android: Physical activity). Automatic Nightstand and Mattress modes read your phone's motion and activity to estimate when you became inactive for the night. On iPhone the readings come from Core Motion; on Android from Google's Sleep API, part of Google Play services on your phone, which gives the app a sleep-likelihood, movement and light level about every 10 minutes. Either way they're turned into simple numbers on the phone — the app keeps a few days of them there — and nothing is sent anywhere by the app.
- Apple Health (iPhone) or Health Connect (Android). If you turn it on, the app asks to read sleep records only — it never writes and asks for nothing else. Sleep stages are combined into a single “asleep” value on the phone. The records are used only to pre-fill your morning check-in, never for advertising, and never leave your phone.
- Microphone. Only for the experimental sound-assisted detection, which is off by default. It measures sound levels on the phone while the app is open and keeps only a simple activity number. Audio is never recorded, saved or uploaded.
- Notifications. Reminders — wind-down, your wake window, Energy Coach suggestions, meal-logging — are scheduled on your phone and delivered by it. Nothing is sent from a server.
Where copies can end up
The app doesn't upload your data, but copies can exist outside it through things you control:
- Your phone's own backups. If iCloud Backup, Google's backup or a computer backup is on, it may include the app's data, under Apple's or Google's terms and your settings.
- Files you export. CSV or JSON exports go wherever you send them from the share sheet.
- Email you send us. Only what you choose to write.
No accounts, ads, analytics or trackers in the app
The app contains no advertising, analytics, crash-reporting or tracking code, and it makes no network requests. We don't know who uses it, how, or when. It works fully offline.
Email to support
If you email us, we receive your address and whatever you write, and use it only to reply. We keep it until your question is resolved and then for up to 12 months, or less if you ask us to delete it.
Deleting your data
In the app, Settings → Erase sleep history removes everything you've logged. Deleting the app removes all of its storage from your phone. See Delete your data for exactly what each step does and what it can't reach.
Your privacy rights
Wherever you live, you can ask us to confirm whether we hold personal information about you, to give you a copy, to correct it or to delete it. Because the app sends us nothing, the only personal information we can hold is email you sent us. Email the support address below; we'll reply within 45 days, at no charge, and you won't be treated differently for asking.
We don't sell personal information or health data, share it for advertising, or use it to target you.
Consumer health data
Some U.S. state laws, such as Washington's My Health My Data Act, ask for a separate statement about health information. Sleep and related logs can count as health data, so here is ours:
- What you log in the app stays on your phone. We don't collect it, receive it, share it or sell it.
- What we can receive: only health details you choose to put in an email to support, used only to answer you, and shared with no one except where the law requires it.
- Your rights: the ones under “Your privacy rights” above. If we ever refused a request, you could ask us to reconsider, and then contact your state's attorney general.
Teens and children
Energy Clock is for people aged 13 and over; the app doesn't let anyone younger finish setup. We don't knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. Caffeine and intimacy logging are only offered to users who enter an age of 18 or over. If you're a parent or guardian and think a child under 13 has emailed us, tell us and we'll delete it.
This website
This website has no accounts, forms or cookies. It uses Vercel Web Analytics to count visits: which pages are viewed, the site that linked here, and your country, browser, operating system and type of device. It sets no cookies and doesn't identify you or follow you to other sites, and we only see totals. This applies to the website only; the app has no analytics. Our host, Vercel, may also keep standard server logs (such as your IP address and browser type) to deliver the site and keep it secure, as any web host does.
Changes
If this policy changes, we'll update it here and change the date at the top. If the app ever starts sending data anywhere, we'll say so here first, and in the app.
