The sleep times look wrong
Every automatic estimate is only a starting point. Each morning, tap Edit on the check-in to fix the times, and add any minutes you lay awake. Confirmed nights help later estimates. You can also switch how sleep is tracked in Settings → Sleep Detection:
- Automatic Nightstand uses your phone's motion and activity with your schedule. It needs motion access: on iPhone, Settings → Privacy & Security → Motion & Fitness; on Android, Settings → Apps → Energy Clock → Permissions → Physical activity (it also needs Google Play services).
- Mattress works with the phone on your mattress; start tracking before bed.
- Manual lets you enter the times yourself.
- Apple Health (iPhone) or Health Connect (Android) uses sleep records another app or device has written there. Turn it on in the app under Settings → Health, and allow Sleep in the Health permission screen.
My wind-down reminder isn't arriving
- Check the reminder is on in Settings → Notifications in the app.
- Check notifications are allowed for Energy Clock in your phone's settings (Settings → Notifications).
- A Focus mode (iPhone) or Do Not Disturb / Bedtime mode (Android) may be holding it back. Allow Energy Clock there if you want it through.
The energy curve doesn't feel like my day
It's an estimate, and it needs a few confirmed nights to settle. Logging quick energy check-ins lets Trends show how often the prediction matched how you felt. If your schedule changed, update it in Settings, or retake the questionnaire in Settings → Sleep Profile — that never touches your history.
I have a new phone
Energy Clock keeps your data on your phone and has no account, so it can move with you only through your phone's own transfer or backup (on iPhone, Quick Start or an iCloud backup; on Android, Google's phone-to-phone transfer or backup). Before you switch, you can also export your history as CSV or JSON from Settings → Data to keep a copy.
Medical questions
We can't give medical advice. If you're worried about your sleep or daytime sleepiness, talk to a doctor.
